Musical Theatre camp starts Tuesday 3rd July! 

At Torquay Dance Academy we are always striving to create the most innovative, exciting & immersive experiences for all of our students. Enter The Greatest Dance Camp! A jam-packed 3 day Musical Theatre workshop that includes a whole lot of singing, dancing, smiling & fun. Over the 3 day program, students 8 years & over will work with Miss Kim & the wonderful Madeline Cain (Vocal  & Musical Theatre coach) to create a performance piece that is truly out of this world!

Meet your SUPERSTAR Vocal Coach - Madeline Cain

Madeline is a 2002 graduate of the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (Bachelor of Music Theatre). While at CQCM, her performances included, The Pajama Game (Gladys), The Sound of Music (Maria), Closer Than Ever, Chess, and the operetta Chu Chin Chow (Marjanah). 
Upon graduating, Madeline was cast as the lead singer onboard the Pacific Princess cruise ship, which saw her tour around the world for 12 months performing a variety of musical shows and cabarets. Madeline then relocated to Japan for her next engagement as a soloist in the Broadway revue Encore! at Tokyo Disney Sea. 

Returning to Australia in 2006, Madeline was soon cast in her professional music theatre debut, CATS (The Really Useful Group). Originally cast as Jennyanydots, she then moved into the role of Jellylorum/Griddlebone and for the next 2 years performed in Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Macau, and China. 
In 2010, Madeline performed the Australian premiere of Georgia Stitt’s, Alphabet City Song Cycle and the following year was honoured to share the stage with Georgia Stitt and John Bucchino as part of their Australian concert series. 
Other professional music theatre credits include Jekyll & Hyde (TML Enterprises), and Gale Edward’s acclaimed 2012 production of Chess (The Production Company). 
2014 saw Madeline join the international cast of CATS, touring Asia as a swing, covering and performing the coveted role of Grizabella, as well as Jellylourm/Griddlebone, and Jennyanydots. In 2015 the production commenced a tour of New Zealand and Australia at which point Madeline was appointed Vocal Captain. 

Most recently Madeline performed her self devised cabaret “What is This Thing Called Love”, as part of the Mackay Cabaret Festival.

In addition to her performing career, Madeline is also a passionate and in-demand singing teacher and masterclass host. With a focus on technique and performance, Madeline has taught many students who have gone on to be accepted into some of Australia’s leading performing arts institutions including WAAPA and NIDA, and have performed in musicals throughout Australia and internationally. 
Madeline’s first foray into the Geelong theatre scene was Centerstage’s 2016 production of The Addams Family, as the company’s Vocal Director. In 2017 she was Director and Vocal Director for Centerstage’s cabaret Bending Broadway.
