GENERAL CLASS INFORMATION

REGISTRATION AND UNIFORMS

Uniforms are available through the dance school and we ask you purchase these once your dancer joins the class.  Our uniforms are made specifically for the school and have certain colors and cut for the different age groups as they become more senior.  Shoes, tights and senior uniforms can be purchased from Geelong Dance Supply (Little Malop Street, Geelong).  For our TInkerballerinas and tough boys dance there is a once off registration fee which will also cover a uniform. This is payable at the beginning of your second class.  Please complete the online Registration Form before your trial class.

UNIFORM ETIQUETTE

Please ensure your dancer is in their correct uniform each week.  Each class has a set uniform and it builds morale and discipline to wear it. When doing a trial class, please wear something the dancer is comfortable in.

HAIR

For ease of movement and for the teachers to be able to correct alignment all girls need to have their hair in a ponytail for Jazz/Hip Hop and Tap and for all other classes a ballet bun for Ballet, pinned up braids or an equivalent for shorter hair.  These are easiest achieved by first putting the hair in a ponytail, then wrapping hair around and pinning it with bobby pins.  If you're new at this "YouTube" ;)

CLASS ETIQUETTE

School Age classes will start on time so dancers are advised to arrive five minutes early so they are ready to enter the class on time.  Parents are asked to wait outside for the duration of the class or return within the hour.  We will have an open day throughout the year where parents and families are invited in to watch the class

Adult & Senior Dancers are asked to arrive 5-10 minutes before class time commences so we can have an on-time commencement of class.  Hair is to be pulled off the face where possible as this makes it easier for the dancer to perform certain moves like pirouettes (turns).

FEES

Fees are paid the first week of each term.  Please speak with Kim if you require a payment plan.

PAYMENT

There are two different ways to pay your fees.  Torquay Dance Academy was created by Kim Fraser and her business “Twenty Two Tutus” and is written as “2222z”.  You will see this name in the payment options.  You can also pay directly to your teacher.  Please carefully name the envelope with your dancers' name, class and the amount inside the envelope.

DIRECT DEPOSIT

If you’d like to directly deposit fees into our bank account, the details are to follow.  Please make sure you put the dancers first AND last name on the “DESCRIPTION” line so that we know which dancer the fees are covering.

If your Under 5s misses a class due to holidays or sickness, they are welcome to join another class on another day and at another venue if space is available.  Please confirm the alternate class with us.  No refunds are given for missed classes.

PHOTOS

Please do not post photos of children other than your own on Facebook or the internet without the permission of the other child’s parent.

PHONES

Please turn all mobile phones to silent for the duration of class time.  Please do not take calls during class time or take the call outside.  Please keep talking to one another to a minimum so as to maintain the focus of the class.

BRING A FRIEND

If you have friends who would like to try a class, please let me know so we can try to get them to trial the same class together if space permits.

NEW CLASSES

At the request of parents, new classes are being made available each Term.  If there is a dance class or an age group that you’d like us to cater for please let us know.

Looking forward to a wonderful time of dance with you and your family.

Keep dancing,

Kim Fraser
